You’re moving into a home with home security devices
A new home may come with an installed home security system. All the devices function well, are placed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this example, just turn on the phone to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to make sure there are no integration issues, and they may offer ideas on upgrades. It's a quick visit, and you can get your monitoring set up without worrying about any new components -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer cost to make the transfer a snap. If the previous owners are moving to an apartment or retirement community, transferring the Vivint contract might be a part of the sale.
You want to move and bring your existing equipment with you
You may need to bring your existing Vivint system with you to your new place when you move. That’s fairly simple to accomplish, as modern smart devices are wireless. You can uninstall each component by yourself or contact a Vivint installer to come and take down everything. Then our installers will hang the same devices -- and any smart devices you need to add -- in your new place. And your home security contract will stay the same.
